Here is where i am now folks, i slowly sanded the box and scraped the binding flush with a cabinet scraper, all i have to do now, is sand the sides and fill a few gaps on them

Here's how the box looks now, i'm pretty pleased with the results i've had so far!

On the back...

And on the top

I will start another thread for my latest jig now, thanks for watching this one

Serge

That rope purfling and rosette is killer looking. I'm liking this guitar more and more with each update.

Man, Serge, that is looking super!!! I really, really, like your rosette.

Did you use the downdraft table to sand? If so, how did it perform?

Ron

I can't wait to get back home to my computer. This borrowed laptop, shall we say, leaves a lot to be desired, when it comes to picture quality and clarity. Arrrrrr!

Many thanks my friends!

Thanks Anthony, both the rope purflind and the ebony bindings were suggested and given as gifts by great pal Russell Rose that i miss very much BTW!

Thanks Ron, No, i did not use it since it's not efficient enough, i had to use my air filter system from Lee Valley this time but will look into my Shop notes to find me a good plan and redo it some other time!

Thanks Alain, yup, i'm sold to HHG in the curves all right! Light gauge strings? Thanks, the post master was Michael Payne's idea!

Thanks Andy!

Thanks Carlton!

Lillian, hurry up, you're missing the fun!

I'd ask Colin Symonds since it was purchased in the UK by our friend Russell Rose who seldomly posts nowadays, being too busy with the day job. Maybe Sam Price or Martin Edwards or Mattia can answer this as well? thanks!

Guys, Gals?

Oh and thanks Chris, also! Serge Poirier39057.3850347222

Serge -- sources for rope purfling? I haven't seen any from a supplier. There was a great "how to make rope purfling" posted here a while ago -- don't recall who. I am thinking it was one of our classical guitar builders who made them for his rosettes. Does someone recall?

Anthony, i know that Shane has something a little different than this rope purfling since i bought some from him for no 2 but this purfling on no 3 was from England and sent by Russ. I think it was John Elshaw who had posted a tutorial a while back on making your own.

Sorry bro, this one is for Uncle Normand Thanks bro, the sanding is not finished yet, but will be done soon with my FANTASTIC JIG that was built using one of the sexiest HACKSAWS you'll ever see!

It's a beautiful guitar Serge, I'm both impressed and jealous.

I need to spend some time in the shop...
